Welcome to Africa!

 This term our topic is:

What happens to the food we eat?

Every day

Please can your child have their reading book and planner in school every day. Feel free to use it as a means of talking to me or asking any questions.

Please can all P.E. kits be brought in for the week.

While we are timetabled to have P.E. on Monday and Thursday, we also have one off events

For P.E., please can you ensure that long hair is tied back, and earrings have been taken out.

In Year 4, children visit the Healthy Living Centre for swimming lessons. For this, every child is required to bring a swimming kit, consisting of a swimming costume and a towel. This year, this will take place on Monday mornings.

Each week, children are given spelling homework to learn their 10 spellings, ahead of their spelling test on a Friday. On Fridays, new spellings are given out.

We expect your child to read each evening. Their progress can be recorded in their planners. Children also have access to a huge range of books on their iPads through J2e, and logging into the Bug Club app. This is something the children can access at home too. Children who read at home are rewarded with house points, which they can spend in the school house point shop!

A minimum of 30 minutes  should be spent on Doodle Maths every week. Children can also spend time learning their times tables. Children can access the Times Table Rockstars website and login with their own logins.

A topic project will also be set each term. This term, the project for lower school is:
