Miss Turner's Y5 class

This term our learning challenge question is -

Why is chocolate so Morish?

Reading books and planners

Please can your child have their reading book and planner in school every day. Feel free to use it as a means of talking to me or asking any questions.

PE kits

Please can all children wear their P.E kits to school on P.E days.

Our current P.E days are Monday and Friday.

For P.E., please can you ensure that long hair is tied back, and earrings have been taken out.

We expect your child to read each evening. Their progress can be recorded in their reading record and if they read three times a week they will earn ten house points.
Children will be given 10 spellings to learn each week and they will be tested on a Monday. Homework is given out on a Monday and due in on the following Monday.
Please encourage you child to access Doodle Maths/Tables, Rockstar Timetables and Maths Flex at home.

Family Learning Project Year 5

Every term in Y5 all the children will be expected to undertake a project as part of their homework tasks. The projects will be linked to the current topic the children are studying in class.

We encourage children to work on the project weekly as opposed to letting it build up and rushing it days before the hand in date. We encourage parental involvement; any support you can give your child is really invaluable.

Spring 2 Project

Our learning challenge question is: Why is chocolate so moreish?

This term we would like you to design and make your own box or bar of chocolate. We would also like you to write set of instructions explaining how you created your delicious creation.

If you need any resources then please let your class teacher know so we can get them for you.

The project is due in on: Thursday 31st March

Children can receive up to 100 house points for good quality projects which they can then cash in for prizes at our school shop.

If you have any questions, then please don’t hesitate to contact myself. All Projects and spelling information can be found on the website under ‘Classes’ and then Year Y5.

Kind Regards

L Turner and A Wood
