Our continent is America! You can see this all through our classroom...

Every day

Please can your child have their reading book and planner in school every day. Feel free to use it as a means of talking to me or asking any questions.

Tuesday & Thursday

Please can all P.E. kits be brought in for the week. While we are timetabled to have P.E. on Tuesday and Thursday. We also have one off P.E. events.

For P.E., please can you ensure that long hair is tied back, and earrings have been taken out.

On Thursday P.E lessons, some Y4's go swimming. Can you please ensure they come with appropriate swimming kit?

We expect your child to read each evening. Please record their progress in their planner. House points are awarded if your child reads three times (or more) each week. Children will also be given spelling homework each week.

Please encourage your child to learn their spellings. Each week we have a small spelling test - 5 words chosen from their previous spellings.

Children are expected to learn their times tables, which are all in their planners.

A topic project will also be set each term. Information about our current project can be found on the project page.

Last term, our topic was

'How did coal mining help shape the Staveley we know today?'

We had some fantastic homework projects.

Well done to everyone that brought in a project.

We are not afraid to dream too big. Nothing is impossible. When you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything.
