Geography
We believe that Geography helps to provoke and provide answers to questions about the natural and human aspects of the world through opportunities to question, investigate and debate important geographical issues which will impact the wider community.
Our geography curriculum enables children to develop knowledge and skills that are transferable to other curriculum areas. Vocabulary and understanding through the subject matter provide children with opportunities to embed their reading skills through engaging and fun activities both in the classroom and in the local environment.
We seek to inspire in children a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people which will remain with them for the rest of their lives; to promote the children’s interests and understanding of places, physical and human environments and geographical knowledge and skills.
Children develop their knowledge and skills sequentially as they move through the school; prior knowledge is built upon and reinforced to ensure children have a firm understanding of their learning.
