Swimming 2022 - 23

Swimming lessons will be for Year 5 and Year 4 on Wednesday afternoon at the local leisure facility, The Healthy Living Centre in Staveley. These lessons are delivered by the Derbyshire school swimming instructors. 

The National Curriculum objectives are for each child to:

• swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres 
• use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]
• perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
